Varsity Boys Basketball | November 28

Our boys played Wellington Christian, a tough district opponent, with a win of 77 - 67

 

Alec Groton scored 27 points, had 7 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 assists. Brandt Montalto scored 20 points and had 5 assists. Steven Barger had 12 points including three 3 point shots. Vincent Boland 6 points and 10 rebounds.

Varsity Boys Basketball | November 21

Morningside played Pope John Paul II, with final score Morningside 37, Pope John Paul 65

Stephen Barger scored 13 points, Alec Groton had 5 points and 6 assists.

Varsity Boys Basketball | November 18 & 19

Our varsity boys played in a Preseason Tournament at Boca Raton Christian School over two days.

Game 1 pitted Morningside against Trinity Christian, with Morningside emerging the victor, 49 - 29. Vincent Boland had 22 points and 7 rebounds, and Stephen Barger added 11 points

 The Championship Game was Morningside against Boca Raton Christian, with Morningside winning again, 54 - 51. Alec Groton scored 15 points and 10 rebounds, Vincent Boland scored 14 points and Stephen Barger had 10 points

Morningside jumped out to a 20-10 1st qtr., 30-31 at half. Morningside trailed Boca by 12 at the 6:00 minute mark of the 4th qtr and took the lead with 1:51 left in the game by a free throw by Alec Groton and Vincent Boland rebounded a missed shot and scored to seal the three point win for Morningside.

Middle School Boys Basketball | November 15

Our middle school boys teams played First Baptist today, the JV "B" team lost 18-11, the Varsity "A" team lost 34-31. For the "A" team, Michael Fountain had 12 points and Matthew Dodd had 8 points.

JV Boys Basketball | November 15

Congratulations to our Junior Varsity Boys team, they beat Wellington Christian in their season opener, 50-11! 

Jordan Stone had 27 points and 8 rebounds, Justin Montalto had 13 points and Nathan Adams had 4 points and 10 rebounds.

Varsity Girls Basketball | November 15

Congratulations to our Lady Eagles, they beat Wellington Christian 32-29 for their season opener, and an important district win! Autumn Mularski had 10 points and 2 steals, while Christina Woodward had 9 points.

Middle School Girls Basketball | November 14

Congratulations to our middle school girls team! They won their first game of the season against St. Joseph Catholic School, 30-13! 

Amanda Mahieu led all scorers with 18 points and also led with steal.  Victoria Crawford contributed 8 points and led the team in rebounds.  Elizabeth Melachrinoudis and Olivia Colbert each had 2 points.

Way to go, girls!!

Basketball Season is here!

Morningside officially begins its basketball season on Monday, November 14, with a Middle School girls game against St. Joseph Catholic School. The game begins at 5pm and will be played in the Family Center.

To welcome in the season, we held a scrimmage game on Friday, November 11, between the middle school and varsity teams.
